Integrated Essential
Multi-Discipline Approach

Integrated Essential Multi-Discipline Approach to Cancer

But the real revolution at Dr. Andy’s Clinic is not in the technology, but in the treatment! Over many years and many miles of global travel, talking with all kinds of doctors in dozens of countries, Dr. Andy learned about a variety of effective therapies that have shown results in treating even advanced-stage Cancer.
The key to our therapy, and the main thing that makes this clinic different from others is the unique way that Dr. Andy combines these various treatments into a single, unified approach to attacking Cancer. He calls it the Integrated Essential Multi-Discipline Approach to Cancer (IEMDA), and it is the basis of the dramatically effective therapy that you will find at this clinic.
The core of this IEMDA is the use of iodine, a common substance that has been proven effective in treating Cancer. But iodine alone is not the answer. The key is a combination of treatments and lifestyle changes that turbo-charge the power of the iodine therapy. It is this combination that defines the IEMDA.
What is the purpose of this IEMDA combination of treatments? Dr. Andy expresses it best, “The goal is not just to reduce or eliminate Cancer one time. The goal is to create an environment where it never comes back!”

Integrated Essential
Multi-Discipline Approach

The Integrated Essential Multi-discipline Approach to Cancer uses a combination of different therapies that are all supported by current science, and adjusts the selection of effective therapies to each individual patient’s condition.

How to Eradicate Both Cancer Cells and Cancer-like Stem Cells

Immunology is the basis for both preventing and treating disease.

The Immune System is the body’s primary defense against threats. It eliminates external threats (bacteria, viruses, etc.) that strike the body constantly. It also eliminates internal threats (Cancer cells) that grow naturally within the body. (*Did you know that your body produces 3,000-4,000 Cancer cells every day! This is not a threat to your health because your Immune System is constantly on guard, watching for trouble-makers. It automatically eliminates Cancer cells as soon as it detects them.) There is both natural immunity (the kind you were born with) and acquired immunity (the kind you get from therapeutic treatments).Age, stress, and other factors weaken the Immune System. After the age of 50 or so, the Immune System’s function is lower than the risk of disease.

The Power of NKT Cells

  • 1)
T cells are a type of white blood cell, and they are an essential part of the Immune System. They help the Immune System to respond to outside threats.
There are millions of T cells in the body, divided into 4 specific functions.
One type, called Killer T cells, attacks and kills Cancer cells.

  • 2)
Another type of white blood cell and an important weapon in our body’s natural immunity arsenal is the Natural Killer (NK) cell. NK cells attack and destroy cells that have been infected by either viruses or Cancer cells.

  • 3)
There are millions of T cells in the body, but only about 0.1% of the them are a highly specialized type of cells that have the same characteristics as both NK cells and Killer T cells. These are called Natural Killer T-cells or NKT cells. NKT cells are powerful weapons against Cancer. They activate both natural immunity and acquired immunity. They act directly by killing Cancer cells, and indirectly by activating the body’s entire Immune System to fight Cancer.

  • “Our goal is not just to reduce or eliminate Cancer one time. Our real goal is to create an environment where it doesn’t come back!”

Why does Cancer Come Back
After Treatment?

What Dr. Andy is referring to are a special kind of cells. You’ve heard of stem cells — cells that can adapt to become anything in your body. There is a type of Cancer cell that behaves much like stem cells. We find that in many cases traditional approaches to defeating Cancer are effective — for a time. Through surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy, a patient may experience a decrease in cancer cells and, after a time, the doctors may pronounce that the patient is “in remission.” There is no more welcome word for patients or their families. “Remission” sounds like a reprieve: the Cancer is gone! Unfortunately, in all too many cases, that reprieve does not last. After a few years, the Cancer comes back, and in many cases it spreads rapidly (metastasizes), and the patient is in even worse shape than before. What is going on here? Once again, this is a very complex process, but to greatly simplify it, we need to talk about these cells that act like Cancer stem cells.

Cancer Cells that Act Like
Stem Cells

You already know about stem cells — they are like all-purpose building blocks that can be used by the body to make anything — a heart, a lung, a leg, a kidney, and so on. We are just beginning to understand and work with stem cells, but they promise to revolutionize regenerative medicine. Stem cells are just like normal cells — they can reproduce about 50 times, and then they die. The problem is that stem cells, just like any other cells in the body, can become corrupted (see Where does Cancer come from?). If stem cells become corrupted (again, a complex discussion we won’t go into here), they can become cancerous, just like normal cells. Cancer cells do not die; they reproduce indefinitely until the host body dies. These special stem cells do the same.
Note: These cells act like and function in a way that might lead us to call them Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs). However, medical research has not yet accepted this conclusion, so the terminology is considered inappropriate. However, just to keep things simple, on this Website we will refer to such cells as CSCs, but we do so with the full understanding that this abbreviation does not officially refer to Cancer Stem Cells.

Cancer Therapy Kills Cancer Cells, Leaves CSCs

CSCs and “Niches”

  • A niche is a “microenvironment” for stem cells. Think of it like a baby’s incubator for Cancer cells. An incubator is a mechanical kind of micro-environment designed to protect, nourish, and promote the growth of the baby inside. A stem cell niche is basically an organic version of the same thing. A niche supports the growth of stem cells that act like cancer cells (CSCs), which means it is a threat to a healthy human body.
Niches also help CSCs to travel around the body (metastasize), which makes them even more dangerous.

Thus, when we find a niche, we know that a patient has a serious condition. We may only spot the niche and not know the primary site where the Cancer cells are replicating. But when we find a niche, we know we must destroy it or it will foster a hungry family of CSCs. Fortunately, our Integrated, Essential Multi-disciplinary Approach to Cancer has shown very good results in eliminating niches that foster CSCs.
